Bio Mark Billington - Artist

I spend my working life as Commercial Interior Designer and photographer, I have a design practice here in Bristol UK

It's only in the last handful of years that I turned my attention to painting... almost on a whim I took a watercolour painting course in Tuscany a couple of years ago, loved it!... and I've been painting ever since...

I graduated in 3-D Design from Leeds and spent my early design career working in London, later moving to Bristol via Yorkshire ...long story.

I grew up by the sea on the Wirral in Cheshire with big skies, far horizons and ever changing light, and this sometimes surfaces in my work.

I have also worked as a semi pro photographer for many years covering Weddings, portrait shoots, fashion and Model portfolios.

I have 2 fantastic adult children, one back here in Bristol the other is now London Based...

I have long had a deep love of the arts generally, having studied the History of Art and Architecture, as part of my design degree.

So painting seems a natural progression and I particularly enjoy the spontaneous nature of watercolour ..."you're never sure quite what's going to happen."...

and I love experimenting with different subjects and techniques.

I have exhibited and sold works at various Arts trails and Private views. over the past few years.
